The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI)

Who should take this assessment? Anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and others.

Do you want to improve your communication skills? Get ahead at the office? Choose a new career? The MBTI is designed for you.

Developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother Katherine Cook Briggs, the MBTI is based on the idea that we each have preferred ways of doing things. For example, we are either right-handed or left-handed.

This does not mean that if you are right handed, you cannot write with your left hand. (As anyone who's ever injured his or her preferred hand will tell you.) However, you prefer to write with your left hand.

The MBTI assesses your personality on four dichotomous scales:

  • Introvert/Extrovert - Do you think first, speak later or think out loud?
  • Sensing/iNtuiting - Do you see things as they are or as they might be?
  • Thinking/Feeling - Do you base your decisions on facts or values?
  • Judging/Perceiving - Do you prefer to plan or go with the flow?

Here's how the MBTI can help you choose a new career or get ahead where you already are:

  • Understanding your innate preferences, and the preferences of others, can help you become a better communicator and a more effective leader
  • Understanding how you like to work, which skills you prefer to use and the type of environment where you feel most comfortable can help you choose a career

Please note: The MBTI is an instrument that sorts for preferences; it does not measure skills or aptitudes. Please remember that there are no good or bad responses. Likewise, no Type is better than another. We each have strengths and unique gifts, as well as vulnerabilities and areas for personal development.

Unlike some facsimiles, only a qualified administrator can give the MBTI. For this reason, and to help you get the most out of your results, the MBTI is offered only with a consultation.

While there is no time limit, you should allow yourself between 30- and 45-minutes to complete the MBTI.

We offer the MBTI Interpretive report in a package: $124.95
