Strong Interest Inventory® Basic Report

Who should take this assessment? Anyone considering changing jobs or careers.

Thinking of changing jobs? Maybe even changing careers? Wondering which type of jobs would match your interests? The Strong Interest Inventory is designed for you.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average person holds several jobs during their professional lives. Many experts say we should expect to have more than one career. Before you jump to your next position there are a few things you should consider:

First, you need to know yourself. You need to evaluate your personality, values, interests and skills. The Strong Interest Inventory® is based on the idea that people are more satisfied when they find their job interesting, and work with others who share similar interests.

As important, you need to find out as much as possible about your next position before you take the job. You need to research as much as you can and talk to someone who is already doing the job.

Here's how the Strong Interest Inventory® can help you find a job that you will enjoy:

  • The Strong Interest Inventory® can help you identify and understand your interests, and match those interests to work and leisure activities.
  • The Strong Interest Inventory® will tell you how your reported interests compare with women and men who are satisfactorily employed in a in a variety of different occupations.

Please note: the Strong Interest Inventory® is not an aptitude test. It is designed to indicate your interests, not your abilities.

The Strong Interest Inventory assessment packages include your assessment and Where Do I Go Next? - a 28-page interpretive booklet that will help you better understand your career interests. It also supplies descriptions of the Personal Style Scales, with lists of preferred interests, skills, abilities, work tasks, and occupations to target the best career for you.

Once your credit card is approved you will be redirected to our assessment site. Once you reach the site you need to select the 1994 Strong Interest Inventory report option. While there is no time limit, you should expect to spend 45 minutes to 1 hour taking your assessment.

In most cases you will receive your assessment results via email within 1 business day. If you have ordered a package your booklet and/or CD-ROM will be shipped US Postal Service 2nd Day. (If you are outside the Continental United States your materials will be shipped US First Class Mail.)
