ALL-SOURCE ANALYST (SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY)
Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be an All-Source Intelligence Analyst with a general focus on science and technology assessment. The incumbent will research and conduct technology assessments that include making evaluations, judgments, and writing reports on foreign technology base as it concerns defense critical technologies; risk of foreign targeting of defense critical technologies; critical defense technology identification; identification of critical technologies within given DoD systems; and risk due to sale, licensing, or joint- or co-production of U.S. systems containing defense-critical technologies. In addition, the incumbent will provide technology forecasting and warning including assessments and written reports related to identifying emerging technologies, areas of high-technology interest to selected foreign countries, identifying defense critical technology areas at increased risk of foreign targeting efforts, and identifying potential countermeasures and activities to counter foreign technology risks.
Basic Qualifications: The candidate will be responsible for conducting classified and open source (OSINT) research and reporting against the full spectrum of such technologies; for making intelligence judgments pertaining to the probability of a development, event, or trend, conveying degrees of likelihood and confidence levels based on the scope and quality of information gathered supporting such judgment. Preferred is an analyst with knowledge, interest, and understanding of China, and in particular its current and developing technology and commercial activities. Analyst responsibilities include researching and evaluating information from classified and unclassified/Open sources; entering information into customer databases; drafting reports as required; and participating in Analyst-to-Analyst exchanges, seminars, and conferences as requested and approved by the client. This is not a linguist position but a capability in reading Mandarin Chinese would be desirable.
The qualified candidate will carry out position requirements with limited supervision and interact with other organizations and subject matter experts. Multi-tasking is the norm for this position. Candidate will respond to short notice tasking.
Qualified applicants must possess a BS degree plus 4-6 years or a MS degree plus 2-4 years experience, or a PhD plus 0-2 years related experience required. Engineering or other hard science background is highly desired. Analytic work will require access to all-source intelligence.
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required. U.S. Government TS/SCI level clearance required for this position.
