In light of the season, our lead article is about how to integrate 2010 Fall Fashion trends into your existing wardrobe. Several fashion experts from California to New York City shared their advice and expertise. They also provided a few tips for shopping on a budget.

How to incorporate the newest fashion trends into your existing wardrobe
By Annette Richmond
Fall is here, and with it comes fall fashion. Magazine pages are filled with striking images of women wearing the latest designs. But what’s an average woman to do? What’s the best way to incorporate the latest trends into an existing wardrobe? And how can one accomplish that on a budget?
To get the answers to these questions, I contacted image experts from across the country. Here’s what they had to say.
While the top trends mentioned by the experts varied a bit, the clear winner mentioned by almost all was animal prints, namely leopard. An overall compilation of our expert’s picks as the top trends for fall 2010 included:

Looking at the five styles of handling conflict
How do you get along with your co-workers? How about with your boss? Developing good working relationships is one of the greatest workplace challenges.
Conflict doesn’t necessarily mean an out and out fight. Consider things like working as part of a team. Are you the cooperative person who makes sure that everyone is heard or are you the assertive type focused on making sure that your idea is the one that comes to fruition? Your answer says a lot about your preferred conflict-handling style.
There are five ways that people handle conflict, According to Kenneth W. Thomas and Ralph H. Kilmann, creators of the Thomas-Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument® (TKI). While everyone uses more than one style, depending on the situation, most of us favor one style over the others.

Despite some inroads women still do not have an equal playing field
By Annette Richmond
It’s common knowledge that most women make less money than men. Unfortunately, this sometimes happens even when they are working in the same profession. Sadly, it also appears that despite an increased integration of “male” and “female” occupations in 1970’s and 1980’s, women’s progress stalled in the mid 1990’s, according to a briefing paper by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
There has been some progress over the last few decades. For example, in 1972 only 4 percent of lawyers were women, compared to 32.2 percent in 2009. Still while women have made some strides into C-level positions, only 25 percent or less of CEO’s are women. And some fields have remained virtually the same: 97.6 percent of nurses were female in 1972 compared to 92 percent in 2009.
